We run a number of weekend and week events each year. In addition we have WhatsApp groups for climbing and walking where activities are frequently arranged at shorter notice. Please contact the Club Events Coordinator if you would like to be added to either of the groups as a guest.
Burns Night 23rd to 27th Jan
Location – Thelkeld
A cottage in Thelkeld close to Keswick, central heating, open fire, four bedrooms sleeping two
each and four bathrooms. A new location to spend Burns weekend surrounded by mountains.
There is usually the traditional Burns Night celebration with food, drink, poetry and singing.
We have booked the house for 4 nights as it is the price is the same as for 3 nights (which is the
minimum booking)
Cost £95 for up to 4 nights plus further costs for any communal meals. Eight places.

Winter Week Braemar 13th to 20th Feb 2026
This may be the plushest accommodation ever booked for a winter week!
Claybokie is a detached spacious comfortable house on an estate close to Braemar. It has 5
bedrooms, only one of which is a double, several bathrooms, central heating, open fires and a
piano! What may be lacking is a drying room but there is a utility room which can be used.
The booking is from Fri to Fri as that is how the house operates.
Cost £181.50 for 7 nights and further costs for any communal meals. 10 places.

AGM 1st to 4th May 2026
Location – Almond Lodge (former YHA Llanddeusant) Breacon Beacons
This is a new location for us in Wales – it was originally a pub – The Red Lion – then a YHA and is now a privately run hostel. The hostel is on the Cambrian and Brecon ways. It sleeps up to 26 in 5 bunk bedrooms. There is an open plan kitchen, diner, common room, central heating, a wood burner, wash basins in bedrooms and separate bathrooms, a drying room and bike store. There is also outdoor tables, a BBQ and a fire pit. We did have different accomodation booked previously in a similar area but the owners had to
cancel.
Cost £100 for three nights plus likely further costs for communal meals.

Late Midsummer avoiding Fathers’ Day – June 26th to 28th
Location – Stables Bunkhouse Edale – Peak District
A great location in the northern peaks on a farm near Edale – 4 bedrooms, showers, drying space (which we hope not to need!), well equpped kitchen and dining area and outside seating area.
Cost £46 for two nights plus likely further cost for communal meal. Fourteen places.

Annual Dinner Lake District – November 13th to 16th
Location – Hawkshead Hall
A large house hear Hawkshead Cumbria between Coniston water and Windermere and not far
from Langdale – 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, two lounges, central heating and a wood burner and a games room with pool table and table tennis. Chance to walk, relax and reminisce about the years activities.
Cost £112.50 for three nights plus further cost for a communal meal and a meal will be booked at a local pub for one night. 12 places
