We run a number of weekend and week events each year. In addition we have WhatsApp groups for climbing and walking where activities are frequently arranged at shorter notice. Please contact the Club Events Coordinator if you would like to be added to either of the groups as a guest.

2026 Events

September 20th to 27th – Cairngorms
Location – Muir Hut
This is a hut belonging to the Cairngorm Club located between Braemar and Linn of Dee giving access to the southern Cairngorms, particularly if a bike is used. Glen Ey is close and a short drive takes you to the Glen Shee area and Spittal of Glenshee.
Cost £80-100 excluding meals.

October 9th to 12th – Ambleside
Location – Fairview Terrace, Ambleside, Cumbria
A house in Ambleside – 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open fire and garden.
Cost £77 for three nights plus likely cost for communal meals. 6 places.

November 13th to 16th – Annual Dinner Lake District
Location – Hawkshead Hall, Cumbria
A large house near Hawkshead Cumbria between Coniston Water and Windermere and not far from Langdale – 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, two lounges, central heating and a wood burner and a games room with pool table and table tennis. Chance to walk, relax and reminisce about the year’s activities.
Cost £112.50 for three nights plus further cost for a communal meal and a meal will be booked at a local pub for one night. 12 places.

2027 Events

January 15th to 18th – Burns Night
Location – Loweswater, Cumbria
A house in this quieter area of the Lakes with a view of the lake, forest and fells. Sleeps up to 12 in 5 bedrooms. House has 4 bathrooms, woodburners in lounge and living/dining room, dishwasher. There is usually the traditional Burns Night celebration with food, drink, singing and poetry.
Cost £95 for three nights plus further costs for any communal meals. Up to 12 places.

February 13th to 20th – Winter Week, Ballachulish
Location – Scotland, near Fort William
While not quite up to the grandeur of last year’s house this looks very comfortable and is in a good location for exploring the Glencoe and Fort William areas. The house sleeps up to 12 in 6 bedrooms. There are 4 bathrooms, a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Cost £190 for seven nights plus further costs for any communal meals.

April 30th to May 3rd – AGM, St Johns in the Vale
Location – Diocesan Youth Centre, St Johns in the Vale, Cumbria
This is a lovely venue known to many – a peaceful setting with views of Blencathra and towards Derwent Water. Walks can be done straight from the door. Large dining room and lounge with great views, six bedrooms with bunk beds, several en-suite.
This may be the last time we book the school house at this venue unless club numbers increase, so you may want to book on and ensure a farewell visit. The Annual Club meeting is normally held on the Saturday evening.
Cost £130 for three nights and there may be further costs for communal meals. Sleeps up to 26.

July 16th to 19th – Summer Lakes Event
Location – Langton Centre, Hartsop
This will be our first visit to this centre – we tried to go previously but covid got in the way! The centre is in a great location at Hartsop near Brotherswater and close to Patterdale/Glenridding. The centre has 7 bedrooms – a mixture of twin and dormitories – we are unlikely to need all the beds so there should be space to spread out.
