Climbing / Scrambling
The Club has an active core of rock climbers who take every opportunity to climb boulders, crags and cliffs wherever they
may be found. Hut–based events in the summer months are generally held at about monthly intervals and these nearly always provide
opportunities for climbing and scrambling in the vicinity. In addition to these larger events the climbers in the club usually
arrange less formal meets, generally in the Peak District or Yorkshire – although they are happy to visit any crag anywhere!
For the most part these events are informal, based at a local campsite but normally they would include a week–long camping trip to
further–flung corners such as Cornwall or South Wales.
The pictures below are selected from a number of events in recent years – and show the typical range of terrain and climbing grades
that members enjoy.
