We run a number of weekend and week events each year. In addition we have WhatsApp groups for climbing and walking where activities are frequently arranged at shorter notice. Please contact the Club Events Coordinator if you would like to be added to either of the groups as a guest.

Location: Borth-y-Gest, Porthmadog, North Wales
Activities: Mountains, climbing, biking, sea related activities, coastal walking, beaches, tea shops …
We have been here several times and enjoyed the comfortable accommodation.
Accommodation is in a variety of rooms – double, twins, attic space.
We have space for 18.

Annual Dinner
Friday 14th – Monday 17th November
Location: Threshfield, Wharfedale, Yorkshire Dales
Activities: Walking the hills and dales, climbing, biking, tea shops …exploring ‘All Creatures Great and Small’
countryside and villages. Buckden Pike, Great Whernside, Simon’s Seat, Malham, Grassington and Skipton nearby.
Accommodation; Grisedale Barn – cottage sleeping 10 in 5 bedrooms.
Cost: £45 for 3 nights and further cost for communal meals, meal at local pub to be arranged for Saturday night.
There is currently another cottage by the barn which sleeps 6 – at present this available and could be booked so if
you are interested in this event please book early. There are also nearby campsites.

Burns Night 23rd to 27th Jan
Location – Thelkeld
A cottage in Thelkeld close to Keswick, central heating, open fire, four bedrooms sleeping two
each and four bathrooms. A new location to spend Burns weekend surrounded by mountains.
There is usually the traditional Burns Night celebration with food, drink, poetry and singing.
We have booked the house for 4 nights as it is the price is the same as for 3 nights (which is the
minimum booking)
Cost £95 for up to 4 nights plus further costs for any communal meals. Eight places.

Winter Week Braemar 13th to 20th Feb 2026
This may be the plushest accommodation ever booked for a winter week!
Claybokie is a detached spacious comfortable house on an estate close to Braemar. It has 5
bedrooms, only one of which is a double, several bathrooms, central heating, open fires and a
piano! What may be lacking is a drying room but there is a utility room which can be used.
The booking is from Fri to Fri as that is how the house operates.
Cost £181.50 for 7 nights and further costs for any communal meals. 10 places.

AGM 1st to 4th May 2026
Location – Living Energy Barn Velindre Black Mountains/ Breacon BeaconsThis is a new location for us in Wales. It sleeps up to 18 which should accommodate our current needs and does not have any bunk beds! There are 4 bedrooms with bedding and towels provided, 6 showers, a large dining room, commercial kitchen and indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Cost £106.50 for three nights plus likely further costs for communal meals. Eighteen places.
