We run a number of weekend and week events each year. In addition we have WhatsApp groups for climbing and walking where activities are frequently arranged at shorter notice. Please contact the Club Events Coordinator if you would like to be added to either of the groups as a guest.
Autumn Yorkshire Dales
19th-22nd Oct (Sat to Tue – 3 nights)
Location: Threshfield, Wharfedale, Yorkshire Dales
Activities: Walking the hills and dales, climbing, biking, tea shops …exploring ‘All Creatures Great and Small’
countryside and villages. Buckden Pike, Great Whernside, Simon’s Seat, Malham, Grassington and Skipton nearby.
Accommodation; Grisegale Coach House – cottage sleeping 8 in 4 bedrooms.
Cost: £62 for 3 nights and further cost for communal meals

Annual Dinner
Friday 15th – Monday 18th November
Activities: walking, mountain biking, tea shops, preparing for Christmas
Location; Lake District
Accomodation: Rydal Hall with the meal at The Traveller’s Rest!
AND again – After the success of last two years’ Annual Dinner and due to popular demand, we are repeating the
venues for both accommodation and meal, that’s if they allow us back in!!!
Cost for accommodation: £118.00 (the cost seen in previous events was based on us hiring The Stables as well)
We only have booked the Coach House and have one space available.
Traveller’s Rest meal will be an additional cost.

Burns Night
Friday 24th – Monday 27th January
Location – Brothersfield, Hartsop, Lake District
Brothersfield is located near Hartsop in Ullswater. We booked it in 2022 and had an eventful time – Storm force
winds didn’t help! We will be able to celebrate Burns Night on THE night this year and will hopefully as usual enjoy
some poetry, song and whisky.

Winter Week Scotland
Feb 15th -22nd
Location – Portnellan, Glen Dochart near Crianlarich, an excellent base for the Southern Highlands with multitudes
of Munros and classic climbing on Ben Lui, Beinn an Dothaidh, and Cruaich Ardrain. It should also be able to offer
essential skills training to winter novices.
Accomodation – a four bedroomed house and a two bedroomed chalet.
Cost: £220.50 for 7 nights accommodation and further cost for communal meals

May Bank Holiday
2nd-5th May – (AGM?)
Location- St Johns in the Vale, near Keswick, Cumbria
Activities; walking, climbing, biking, swimming.…. shopping. There is a range of good walks from the centre or a
short distance away.
Accommodation -The Diocesan Youth Centre that many are familiar with – great location, 6 bedrooms mainly
bunk room many en-suite, large lounge with lovely views and large dining room. We are not aiming to go up to
the capacity of 26 people so the bedrooms will not be full.

June Scottish Trip
31st May – 7th June
Location – The Ling Hut, Glen Torridon
Surrounded by Munros the Ling Hut is one of the Scottish Mountaineering Club. It is in an excellent location.
Accommodation; is simple- 12 beds spaces on shared platforms, toilet, drying room, calor gas cooking and
heating.
Cost: £176 for 7 nights and further cost for communal meals

Not Midsummer Event
11th -14th July (Fri to Mon)
Location – Langdale Cumbria
A beautiful valley in the Lakes District and the hut is just behind the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel at the foot of the
Langdale Pikes. Bow Fell and Crinkles Crags nearby. Walking, biking and climbing straight from the hut.
Accommodation: Raven Crag is a house owned by Barclays Climbing Club. It has a well equipped kitchen,
comfortable lounge, 4 bunk rooms, drying room, showers and space outside for a BBQ is the weather permits.
We are not aiming to go up to the capacity of 24 so the bunk rooms will not be full.
